God’s love, grace and mercy…I hope they never cease to amaze me. I want to tell you a story.
While I was at work about a month ago, I stumbled into the break room for a drink of water…desperately wishing for something caffeinated but not willing to sacrifice my 1.25 to the coke machine. Then, to my surprise, an unopened 2 liter of beautiful, refreshing Coca-cola with a note that read “left over from Friday, enjoy!”
This may seem trivial to you. But to me, in that moment, this was a perfect illustration of the amazing act of Christ on calvary. In a moment when I desperately needed something – anything – to help me stay awake, there was this soda. In a week where work had been so bad I literally could not afford to buy a soda and gas, one was given. You see, long before even I knew how much I needed this refreshment, it was already being provided for me. In my weakness, a gift was given to me that I could not afford to buy.
I challenge you to look for your bottle of Coca-cola today. What do we overlook in daily life that will point you to the cross of Christ today?
To over-look is to forget. Let us be constantly reminded of the height and depth and width and breadth of the awe inspiring, all encompassing love of Jesus Christ.
