What message are we sending to a broken world when we as the church condemn the broken in our midst? I firmly believe the health of the church can be accurately gauged by not only how many broken and hurting people seek solace in the church, but how many of them are helped through these dark times, start to finish and all the messy in between, by the church without judgment.
Circumstances that I once thought ended my “professional” ministry, I now see as tools to minister to hurting and broken people in a way that others cannot. When God says He works all things out for good, we need to expand our focus beyond ourselves…how can your times in the wilderness benefit others? Don’t let your ministry be defeated by all the times you’ve stumbled and failed; see these as opportunities to tangibly expand the reach of your influence.
