“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. (Matthew 10:32 NLT)

•So much in life boils down to acknowledgement…we crave the attention and approval of others. Some would make the case we are wired this way. We are social beings by nature…we were formed in the image of a relational God. But so often our focus strays from the only acknowledgement we need.
I think back…some of the dumbest decisions I have made were attempts to gain the attention of others. How would our lives be shaped if we did all to have the acknowledgement of Christ.

Remember…“A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. (Matthew 12:33, 35 NLT)

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:28, 30 NLT)

•I went back and re-read my first blog…from the summer of 2009. That was a season a transition in my life. I didnt understand it all then just as I dont understand it all now…but I know that God is our help in time of trouble and a constant source of rest. But there is a noteable difference between rest and relaxation. Relaxation implies a state of inactivity. Rest can simply be a calming of the spirit. God never promised the journey would be easy. He just asks that we follow Him and allow ourselves to rest in Him.
